DISCUSSION

The familiar saying “The handwriting is on the wall” comes from this story. When people say that, what do they mean?

EXAMINATION.

Vv.1-4 What do these details reveal about Belshazzar?

Vv.5-9 What does Belshazzar’s reaction to the mysterious hand reveal about him?

Vv.10-16 There is a 25 year time gap between chapters 4 and 5, how could Daniel be forgotten?

Vv.17-24 How is Daniel’s history lesson relevant to Belshazzar?

Vv.25-31 Why would Belshazzar want to reward Daniel for this message?

Nebuchadnezzar was offered an opportunity to repent (4:27), why wasn’t Belshazzar        given a similar opportunity?
