Cypress Bible Church was established through the joint efforts of Pastor Dean Heatley of Spring Bible Church and Pastor Joe Wall of Spring Branch Community Church.   We held our first services in Lamkin Elementary School on October 7, 1973, with 65 people in attendance.  In early 1974, Johnny Miller, a missionary home on leave, became the church's first senior pastor.

The church purchased a small parcel of land at 11711 Cypress-N. Houston in 1975 and dedicated what is now the chapel building on January 15, 1978.  In the past 10 years, more land has been purchased and additional buildings constructed to house a church that has grown to a Sunday worship service and children's ministry attendance of approximately 1,500.  In 1996, the church adopted a 10-year long range plan to provide for growth to twice our current size and also purchased additional land that more than doubles the size of our property.  In 2001 we opened our new Worship Life Center, greatly increasing our ability to minister on Sunday mornings and beyond.  We currently have a core attendance of approximately 1000 families.

Cypress Bible Church has a long tradition of grace-oriented Bible teaching designed to equip the believer for effective ministry and spiritual growth.  The church is known for its loving concern for one another and its passion to reach the world with the Gospel of Jesus Christ.
