OI supports troops serving on the frontlines.
Our goal is to ensure that every Solider, Sailor, Airman and Marine receives encouragement and support. The cornerstone of OI is the Civilian Ration
(called C-rat ®). Designed for delivery to the frontlines, C-rats are quart-sized bags that contain a personal note from a caring civilian and items such as snacks, games and personal care products. The most important part of the C-rat is the letter from a person who has never met that Soldier, but takes the time to write his or her expressions of care and concern.
Time: (9am – Noon)
Location: 12308 Jones Road (corner of Jones and Cypress N. Houston – behind Walgreens)
Number of People:
(30-50 / ages 4 – 104) (This is a great family activity!)
Scope of Activity: We will meet at the OI facility to pack C-Rats that will contain a letter from an individual who cares. Please write at least 10-100 or more notes/letters to a soldier that you can place in your C-rats. Be encouraging and positive and make no mention of war or death. BRING YOUR Soldier Letters with you when you come!!! Donations of travel sized toiletries also greatly appreciated. You can bring them when you come....
Sponsor a Shipment: You can sponsor the shipping costs of one C-rat shipment for $30/box. Each box contains 50/c-rats to be delivered to 50 Soldiers.
Remember to bring letters to soldiers with you when you come!!!
