Loving Lamkin Opportunities

• Volunteering    

• • Library Help – stocking shelves and repairing books. This is a one day/week commitment although they welcome any help that is available.

   

  • Become a mentor – walk along side an at-risk child giving encouragement and support. Training will be offered prior to beginning as a mentor.

   

  • Tutor a student/ students in areas that need reinforcement. Training will be provided. No special skills are necessary.  All materials (including answers sheets) are provided. You just have to want to make a difference in the lives of these kids.

   

  • Provide refreshments to the staff – we try to support and encourage the staff at Lamkin by “Loving” them with occasional meals, snacks, goodies, etc. throughout the year. 

   

  • Book Fair Volunteer  - assist in setting up, helping students in finding books during the fair or helping to pack up after the book fair.Lamkin Family Fun Night – the Lamkin PTO hosts a “carnival” type night each May for their students and families. There are opportunities to volunteer with food concessions and games.  This is also the biggest fundraiser for the Lamkin PTO.

   

  • Classroom Reader – Volunteer to read to a class – days and times are very flexible.

   

  • Miscellaneous Opportunities – there are other opportunities that come up occasionally to walk along-side the students and staff as needed.
